Happy Labor Day!

These are the little things that make me happy.  I am trying really, really hard not to "GOOGLE it" as I prefer to remain in the dark. I kind of like it that way.

My day:::::

Alarm buzzed at 4:00. Lay in bed and ponder, pray and think untill 5:30 sleep till 6:00. Shower, make coffee, get my boys out of bed, leave the house, drop the boys off at school, report to work till 4:00. Drop by Walmart get a few groceries for dinner (King Ranch Chicken Casserole). Eat, clean up, sit on sofa, and stare out into space. Leave the house at 6:10, head back to town for soccer practice. Get back to the house by 8:30, stare at the boys.......I think I need a bowl of ice cream.

Today's my birthday and I'm feelen the love of everyone around me. Gee I HAVE received 67 birthday wishes from my social network site and fielded telephone calls from my mom and my dad. Thanks to everyone who felt compelled to send me well wishes. I love my small town and everyone in it and everyone who has lived here before that now call another city home. I think I will go as far as saying...I love everything about it too. Now for that bowl of ice cream. It's better than birthday cake anyway.

Fishing the Current River

Boys fishing not fussing!
The Devil's Well, a US National Park in Missouri

This weekend I was fortunate to spend the weekend with my boys and my father in laws siblings whom I affectionately call "The Hoffman's". We met them in South Central Missouri where we stayed in a cabin on the Current River. We were literally in "the boondocks". There is no television, no radio, and no cellular telephone service but there is electric, heat, running water, and a dishwasher (heaven). We had a terrific time and I think the boys did too...they didn't complain one bit once we arrived. It was complete bliss not having to compete with their telephone texting/internet surfing/facebooking, etc. We ate, laughed, relaxed, hiked, fished, explored caves, and chilled. My father in laws family are great hosts and I hope we get together again real soon.

My friends

Thinking of my friends week!

My childhood friends, Tammy and Leslie. I have known them for more than 35 years. Tammy's mom used to babysit me so it seems like I have known her since day one (1). I first met Leslie in grade school when she and her dad bought my horse, Drupper. Tammy and Leslie lived by each other so they probably had more fun together....without me.... tears.
Thanks to Tammy we try and get together 6 to 8 times a year. Its a little easier now since we don't have little kids at home and no one misses us.

Speaking of acne, why don't I or why haven't I done this. Somebody in my house is suffering from a severe case of acne (hint: its guy with the beard). I mean all I have to do is get out my cute little bottle of tea tree oil mix a few drops of it with an ounce of one of those jugs of carrier oil in my cabinet and battaboom....instant acne relief right at my fingertips.
